Accommodation:
Full Academic Year - The cost of accommodation for the 2015/16 academic year is £3,061.50. This covers a period of 39 weeks and includes the Easter and Christmas vacations. It includes costs of heating, lighting, hot water and the internet. Temporary Accommodation is not available in the Halls of Residence.
Semester Two study - The cost of accommodation for students studying from January 2016 during the 2015/16 academic year is £1,570.00. The contract begins on Saturday 23rd January 2016 and covers a period of 20 weeks, including the Easter vacation. Like any contract in accommodation, the end date of the contract is set and standard.
Methods of payment:
Full Academic Year -There are three methods of payment available to students signing a 2015/16 39 week contract: a one off payment for the full amount, termly instalments and the third payment method is yet to be confirmed. We will send you further details with your offer of accommodation.
Semester Two study - There are two methods of payment. Students signing a 2015/16 semester two contract can either pay the full amount of £1,570.00. Alternatively, the fee can be paid in two instalments.
You’ll need grounding in key software packages, like Unreal Engine, Unity, Auto desk Maya, Adobe Photoshop and ZBrush. These will develop your ideas from concept sketches to full-blown environments, characters and animations. You’ll use these skills in your own game productions.
We’ll teach you the fundamentals of game scripting, so you can build on the problem-solving skills needed to transition seamlessly between the various disciplines of game development. In class, you'll work in a team-based environment that closely matches a real world studio, following professional workflows that ensure everyone operates with a single purpose with a strong emphasis on producing high value portfolios.
In the second year you can build your industry experience further with a work placement and some real life industry briefs. At the end of year two, there’s even an opportunity for further study to a full BSc Honours degree with a third year option. Whether you plan to be a valued member of an established AAA studio, or become an overnight sensation as a rock-star Indie developer with your creative vision, by the end of the course you’ll be on top of your game in every aspect of developing, marketing and shipping products that can compete across computer, console and mobile spaces.
